This policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website or contact me.
2. Website hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. STRATO processes technical access data to deliver the website and protect it against misuse and attacks. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, the requested page, the referring website, browser information and the result of the request.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interests are providing a reliable website and maintaining its security. STRATO stores visitor IPs used for attack defense for a maximum of seven days and anonymizes visitor identifiers in customer access logs.
3. Cookies, local storage and analytics
This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising tracking. To see how many people visit and which wallpaper packs get downloaded, I use GoatCounter, a privacy friendly analytics service. When you open a page, your browser loads a small script from GoatCounter (gc.zgo.at) and sends the page address, the website you came from, your browser and system type, your screen width, your language and your country. GoatCounter works out the country from your IP address. To avoid counting the same visit twice, GoatCounter keeps the website name, your IP address and your browser details in its memory for up to 8 hours. This is not written to its database, and it does not store the IP address itself. It also counts clicks on the wallpaper download buttons. GoatCounter keeps only totals per hour or day, so I cannot tell who you are.
GoatCounter is run by Martin Tournoij in Ireland, and its servers are at Hetzner in Finland and Germany. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used. GoatCounter does not set cookies or store anything on your device. Its own description: https://www.goatcounter.com/help/privacy
The contact form submits directly to HubSpot's form API - no embedded HubSpot script, no cookies. If you change the color theme, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage only and is never sent to me, GoatCounter or HubSpot. You can remove it by clearing the site's stored data in your browser.
4. Contact form and HubSpot
When you send a message through the contact form, I process your email address and message, and your first and last name if you choose to provide them, to answer your inquiry. First and last name are optional; email address and message are required for form submission. The form also sends the address and title of the page you submit from. HubSpot receives the network information needed to receive the submission, including your IP address.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries), or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry concerns a contract. Providing the information is voluntary - you can also just email me. Please don't include sensitive information that isn't needed for your inquiry.
I use HubSpot to receive and manage these messages. HubSpot acts as a processor under its Data Processing Agreement (part of its standard customer terms, also for free accounts). Data may be processed outside the EEA; for transfers to HubSpot, Inc. in the US, HubSpot participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its agreement provides Standard Contractual Clauses where needed.

5. Email and how long I keep inquiries
If you contact me by email, I process your email address, message and attachments to answer you, same legal bases as above. I delete inquiry data from HubSpot and my email account six months after the matter is closed, unless legal obligations or legal claims require longer retention.
6. External links and PayPal
The site links to external services, including a PayPal donation page. PayPal is not embedded. If you follow the link, PayPal processes data under its own privacy policy. If you donate, PayPal may share transaction and sender information with me so I can receive the payment.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict your data, and to data portability where it applies. Where processing is based on legitimate interest, you may object. To exercise your rights, email hallo@highfidelityart.de. You can also complain to the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin (datenschutz-berlin.de).
